Leatherhead Football Club are delighted to announce the the signing of goalkeeper, Slavomir Huk.
Huk arrives on a season-long loan from Dorking Wanderers and is set to make his Leatherhead debut tonight versus Kingstonian.
“I am delighted to confirm Slav is a Tanner!” enthused Leatherhead Manager, Hayden Bird. “I would like to place on record my thanks to Marc White and Dorking Wanderers, for their assistance in completing the deal.”
The Manager went on to confirm he is expecting his new signing to be in the squad tonight’s Velocity Cup Second Round tie with Kingstonian. “Yes, there will be changes tonight and Slav will definitely be included, providing the National League and Isthmian League approve the paperwork in time.”
“We were disappointed to lose on Saturday, having played so well at Uxbridge in midweek. In my first month here, the players have made great strides. However, we are showing the characteristics of a young team with our inconsistency. That’s normal at this stage in our development so although the Management are aware of it, we are not concerned. Our target very firmly remains to be in touch with the Play-Off’s by February.”
“I have no doubt signing the experience of Slav will accelerate this process. Possibly with one or two more, who will add the experience we are lacking in key areas. However, let’s not detract from the players we have at the Club currently. I’m delighted with their progress. The team are playing good football.”
“Saturday was frustrating. Yes, it was a small set-back but that’s normal when the team are in transition. Needless to say, we are looking to bounce back tonight. However, the Velocity Cup will also provide the chance to look at players who have worked hard in training and deserve an opportunity to play. For example, Reise is injured and Dan Hector is cup-tied. The good news is Samir and Rhys are ready and Jermaine has recovered from being unwell at the weekend.”
“No doubt, Kingstonian will arrive with a big motivation to impress their new manager. It promises to be a really good game against a tough opponent. Leatherhead will play a new shape with a group of players fighting for their place. Week by week, the squad is getting stronger. I’m looking forward to the game!”
