CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT
The board are having a reshuffle for 2026 with John Dean taking on the role as club Chairman and David Pope becoming Vice Chairman.
David, who had a stroke in Feb 2025, needs to avoid stressful situations and this move will enable him to stay with the board and continue to work on the strategic planning for our future
John said, ” It is important that David, who had a stroke just under a year ago, is kept away from stress and this reshuffle will ensure he can concentrate on strategic planning around the club while avoiding the day to day issues that come up. I am personally delighted that we have found a way to keep David on the board as he is not only a friend of mine but a valued confidant whose opinion and view I value greatly. We have always worked as a pair, we along with others formed the TSC, went on the board together 3 years ago and have worked, as two supporters, to make the club a true community asset. I have no doubt David will continue to play a key role in the growth of our football club.”
David said “As most people know, what happened to me was totally unexpected, and the year since has been personally challenging, and focussing on getting better has really made me question my priorities. I’m so grateful for the support and kindness of the Tanners family, especially John and the Directors. Whilst I need to step back from the front line, I’ve also realised how important this club and everyone involved in it are to me, so I’m delighted that we have found a way which not only helps my rehabilitation to continue, but keeps me involved in the club and its future”
This reshuffle positions the club to continue to move forward in 2026.

One Response
This reshuffle it seems to me not a difficult one but an obvious one. David’s wellbeing is paramount not only for his family but also for David. His status at the club is of the highest level. With David just coming to watch the game and him walking through the stands to his normal place to watch shows great stability, All is well.
