Leatherhead FC is delighted to announce that we’ve been awarded vital funding to expand our schools outreach programme.
Thanks to support from the Trident Community Foundation, we can now dramatically increase the number of local schools we visit, bringing the values of football into classrooms and playgrounds across Leatherhead and surrounding villages. The Trident Community Foundation (TCF) is a grant programme that supports non-league football clubs with community projects. It is funded by the Entain Foundation’s “Pitching In” initiative, alongside the three Trident Leagues — the Isthmian, Northern Premier, and Southern Leagues
Our coaches and players from both the Mens and Womens teams will deliver assemblies, run training sessions, and give children the chance to be mascots at home games. Schools involved will also benefit from discounted tickets, making live football more accessible and affordable.
Club Director Jim Gordon explained: “We were only able to manage two school visits a season before. Now, with this funding, we’re planning up to 12–14 visits, engaging more than 300 children. It’s about inclusivity, mentorship, and inspiring young people through football.”

This initiative ensures that local children from all backgrounds — including those facing financial or physical barriers — can enjoy the game, connect with role models, and feel part of their local club.

We’ve wasted no time and already visited our friends at Trinity, Eastwick and Fetcham Village Infant schools.
We’re proud to be building stronger links with our community and look forward to welcoming the next generation of Tanners to Fetcham Grove.
