MICHAEL ANDERSON

Tanners supporters will be saddened to hear that Michael Anderson passed away a few days ago.
Michael was a great servant to our club, he was a member and Vice President for very many years. He was extremely popular and always available to lend a helping hand at the club.

Always very local community-minded, Michael was a Bookham councillor for 13 years until 2004, including a spell as Leader of Mole Valley District Council. He often helped and advised the club when we needed assistance with our landlord’s MVDC.

As well as local politics, he stood as a Parliamentary candidate in three general election campaigns, and was also Vice Chairman of Mid Surrey Health Authority, Chairman of Governors at Howard of Effingham school, and held positions in several other community organisations such as Bookham Residents Association.
Michael was a great clubman, his friendly, knowledgeable and calm demeanor was much valued by many of us, and he will be sadly missed.

The club sends its sincere condolences to Michael’s family and friends.
