Chipstead 0 Leatherhead 4
Leatherhead comprehensively outperformed Chipstead for a comfortable 4-0 win at
High Road on Tuesday.

Tanners opened the scoring on 16 minutes after Luther Williams won a corner for the
visitors. Kenny Beaney sent a probing delivery into the middle of the box and with
three Leatherhead forwards bearing down on him, Chips defender Daniel Pappoe
turned the ball past goalkeeper Harrison Firth for an own goal.
The visitors continued to press the Chips defence as Tyler Cox tested Firth with a
stinging shot on 24 minutes.

Tanners doubled their lead on 35 minutes as the hosts allowed Trey Masikini to burst
through the middle unchallenged before calmly stroking the ball past Firth from the
edge of the box.

Daniel Hector missed a chance to add a third goal for the visitors just before the half-
time break. The Leatherhead striker took possession just inside his own half and set
off towards goal before firing over from 25 yards out.
Chipstead revived briefly at the start of the second half in their attempt to pull a goal
back. Chad Goulter had a shot deflected for a corner before Dan Berry’s low drive
was cleared by the Tanners defence.

Leatherhead keeper Mikey Allen did well to save Martin Sontan’s long-range effort
before the visitors eased any developing concerns with a third goal on 69 minutes.
Hector took possession on the edge of the box and drove a blistering shot which went
through Firth’s hands on its way to the net.

Alpha Diallo latched onto a loose ball to add a fourth goal for the visitors on 75
minutes.

With the three points secured Tanners eased off in the closing minutes, allowing
Chipstead opportunities for a late consolation goal.

Dan Berry came close for the hosts with a long-range effort on 90 minutes before
Pappoe skewed a poorly struck shot well wide in added time.

The result sees Leatherhead move up one place to fifth in the table as they prepare to
face Met Police in another league match at Imber Court on Saturday.
