Here we go!
After the excitement and so many great days last season, We now, as the old football saying goes, “go again”.
I am writing these notes before our first game away to Ramsgate and our home game against Welling United but I am, like many of you, so looking forward to watching how our team do playing at a higher level.
i was talking to Ian earlier in the week and he and his team are as ready as they can be and I know will give it their very best to hold their own in our new division. We have a team of players who have worked together for a while now, a group who play hard on and off the pitch, and have each others backs. Good luck boys, the green army will be with you every step of the way.
I travelled to Ramsgate on the TSC coach, which they will be running again to the Eastbourne game, and I would like to thank them for making long away games accessible for supporters. They have a new Chairman in Richard Dore-Boize and I would like to congratulate him on behalf of Board on his well deserved appointment. I have always enjoyed Richards company and look forward to working with him and the supporters club in helping with projects large and small around the club. It would be remiss of me to not also thank his predecessor, Jim Gordon who can now concentrate on the work he does with me and the other directors on the board.
As the season gets underway all supporters pre orders of new kits will be available from Keri and Kirsty in the club shop plus all sizes will be for sale. We will also have a new style polo and qt zip in dark blue, plus caps and hats of all different colours. Merchandising has become a valuable revenue stream for the club and I hope the new away kit and polo with our reworked club badge proves to be popular. We have been working hard to give our fans something different so I hope you like them.
I would like to welcome all supporters plus the officials, staff and players of Welling United to the first league game of the season at Fetcham Grove. Lets hope for a good night and fingers crossed for a valuable 3 points.
