Chat from the Chair

Firstly I hope you’re all enjoying the summer, although if you’re anything like me, you can’t wait for the season to start again.

I thought I would use my column to communicate what has been going on behind the scenes and to let you know of some changes we are making in getting the club ready for our place in the Isthmian Premier League and for the future.

On the pitch Ian, Pitts and Mick have been working hard to get a competitive squad together with 4 new signings and most of last years squad committing to the Tanners for a further 12 months. A warm Leatherhead welcome to Kofi, Joe, Harry and Bobby who we all look forward to seeing in pre season.

Off the pitch we have a new Media team headed up by Ryan, with our new commentator Finlay (well worth a listen) and a new match reporter, David all doing a great job as we look to up our game on and off the pitch.

We also have a new club operations committee of John Loveridge, Mark Allan, Martin Richardson and Hett Allan to ensure our off field activity runs as smoothly as ever. These four plus our army of amazing volunteers have been working hard to ensure we are ready for pre-season.

When you visit the club house you will see brand new ladies toilets, with a new separate disabled cubical as well, all thanks to a welcome grant from Surrey CC. We also have a brand new kitchen courtesy of MDH our shirt sponsor, Howdens and Derek Tanner. Thank you all for supporting our club.

Fetcham Grove is looking really good and we have met all the ground requirements for the Isthmian Prem but we have to start planning now, just in case, perish the thought, the boys keep winning and we face another possible promotion. Unlikely in our first season up, but the board are aware that our ground would need major investment and work to play at a higher level.

The fixtures list comes out on the 17th July at which point Match Day and Player Sponsorship will go on sale with the league season set to start on August the 8th and I for one cannot wait to see how our boys perform at a higher level.

UP THE TANNERS!
