Matt’s Back

We’re delighted to confirm that Matty Everitt will be staying with the club for the 2026/27 season.

Matty’s time back in the UK after a summer playing in the USA has not been straightforward. In his very first game he suffered a serious setback, rupturing his ACL and tearing his meniscus. Having already battled through an MCL tear in his left knee earlier in his Leatherhead spell, lesser characters would have folded, but Matt has stayed relentlessly positive throughout. He’s built a coaching business, thrown himself into his rehab, and last season’s hard graft has finally seen him return to light ball work as he enters the final stage of recovery.

On Matty’s return, Ian Selley commented “Matty’s rehabbed well and he’s done a lot of work recently. He’ll be doing bits with us in pre season and doing his own stuff. He’s got a couple of tips to the rehab centre which will give him the green light to start training especially with contact. He’s keen to stay and we’re keen to keep him and we’ll monitor. When we feel he’s ready we will reintegrate him and will almost feel like a new signing!”
