The club would like to give a special thank you to Alfie Huckle who will be leaving the club in search of regular game time following a season where he was out of action due to injury. Alfie came across from Westfield with manager Ian Selley and was an ever present in the heart of the Tanners midfield. Alfie clocked the most appearances of any player in a Leatherhead shirt during the 2024/2025 season picking up the Young Player of the Season award for his efforts. Last season, Alfie agreed to stay with the club but a long term knee injury suffered very early on in August saw him sidelined throughout. Despite the setback, Alfie and his family still came to as many games as possible and became familiar faces at the Grove.
On Alfie’s departure, manager Ian Selley commented “We’ve had him at Westfield and bought him in as a young lad. He’s a sensible guy and will benefit from playing week in week out. He’s the first name on the team sheets each week and super consistent, gives his all week in week out. We will 100% keep in touch and see where we’re at come the end of the season”
We wish Alfie all the best as he comes close to a full recovery!
