Chairman John Dean represented Leatherhead FC at a Connecting the Constituency event held at the Houses of Parliament on the 18th May. The gathering, organised by local MP Helen Maguire and her team, brought together community leaders from across Epsom & Ewell and Leatherhead to share experiences, discuss local challenges, and explore new opportunities to work collaboratively for the benefit of residents.
The event created space for organisations of all sizes to highlight their work and learn from one another. For Leatherhead FC, it was an opportunity to showcase the club’s growing role not only in football, but in wider community life. Helen Maguire’s team arranged the session to spotlight local success stories and strengthen connections between groups working to support the constituency.
Reflecting on the day, John Dean said: “It was wonderful the amount of people who approached me to congratulate us on winning the league. The awareness of what we have achieved has really captured the interest of the business community in our area.”
The conversations reinforced how strongly the club’s recent success has resonated beyond the pitch. From local businesses to civic leaders, there is a clear recognition of the positive momentum building around Leatherhead FC, both in terms of footballing achievement and the club’s commitment to community engagement.
As the club continues to grow its presence and partnerships, events like this help strengthen relationships and open doors to new opportunities that support the town, the supporters, and the wider community we serve.
Leatherhead FC are really proud to represent the area at every level. On the pitch, in the community, and, on occasions like this, in the heart of Parliament.
