It’s been a hell of a time at Fetcham Grove, not just for what’s been happening on the pitch, but for the impact we’ve made right across Leatherhead.

We started the ball rolling last week. Vice Chair David Pope teamed up with our friends at Leatherhead Rotary, opening the clubhouse for three days so local people could donate pre‑owned items in support of Cancer Research UK. These donations help stock their high street shops and keep vital funds flowing into lifesaving research.

As part of National Non‑League Day on Saturday, Director Jim Gordon made sure we played our part for the day’s main charity partner, Prostate Cancer UK. Money was raised through a bucket collection, online donations, and sales of the iconic Man of Men pin badges in the club shop. Huge thanks to Keri, Kirsty and Dave for driving this on the day.

Last but not least, Chairman John Dean welcomed the brilliant team from the Prostate Project to the Grove on Tuesday. They delivered free PSA testing for local men and Leatherhead turned out in force. 94 men were tested, a record for the charity at an event of this kind, and such was the demand they had to scramble for extra facilities to keep up. A remarkable reminder of how football clubs can play a real role in early detection and prevention.

All of this is testament to what football can do when a community pulls together and to what a special community we have here in Leatherhead.

Leatherhead FC: a winning team on and off the pitch.
