A further chat from the chair.

Once again we caught up with Co-Chairman John Dean ahead of Saturdays big game against Horsham in the 4th round of The FA Trophy

All words taken from Saturdays match day programme.

After a really excellent set of festive results, where the boys posted 2 wins and further solidified our lead at the top of the table, we now move back to FA Trophy action.

I would like to offer a warm welcome to Horsham officials, players and supporters for what I am sure will be an excellent cup tie. Horsham have come a long way in the last few years and have built a true community club in a fashion we are working hard to emulate.

As we have gone through each round of the cup and our gates are getting bigger I wanted to acknowledge we are experiencing growing pains as far as the time taken for supporters waiting for food and drink. Today, as we expect another big crowd we are running a number of experiments to see if we can resolve the issues including the addition of two extra temporary bars. This will mean there will be 4 areas where you can buy beer and alcohol and this will hopefully keep things moving quicker.

As far as food is concerned we will have an external company offering a number of choices, at the back of the McGuire stand,  to the right as you enter the turnstile. Our own tea bar will only be serving tea, coffee and soft drinks to again try to keep wait times down as much as possible.

We obviously have ambitions to one day play in a higher league and these one off initiatives will form part of our planning going forward. Please feel free to provide feedback to any board member in the week following today’s game on what could be improved and also, if appropriate, what worked well.

You cannot fail to notice the changes around the ground but what you may not realise is many of these are paid for with the money collected for match day raffle tickets. John, Suzzie and Kevin do a great job on a match day selling tickets and these funds are invested in improving facilities around the ground. Please buy tickets to help keep Fetcham Grove looking as good as possible and who knows, you may even take home one of the 4 cash prizes.

While talking about facilities I also wanted to thank the TSC supporters group who have helped us so much this season. Amongst other things providing new signage on the main road, an industrial water pump to get surface water off the pitch, new training balls, new speakers in the bar, Hi-Viz jackets for our stewards and they also are co-sponsors of our new style reusable cups. On behalf of Tanners fans everywhere, THANK YOU.

Enjoy the game today as we take a break from our promotion push for what promises to be a cup tie to remember.

I would also like to remind you all that you can get your match day tickets in advance here https://leatherheadfc.ktckts.com/event/lhd2526cup11/horsham-fa-trophy-fourth-round-proper-all-pay
