Iain Hendry – Hall of fame.

The club are delighted to announce Iain Henry as the next entry onto our “Hall of Fame” Board.

Iain made his Tanners debut on the opening day of the 2000/01 season.

Despite managers and players coming and going he remained the bedrock of the Tanners defence for much of the next decade. In total he made 417 appearances scoring 25 goals.

His final outing for Tanners was in April 2010. Henders is one of only five players to have been awarded a Testimonial game (against Arsenal in 2010). A whole hearted player who always gave 100%, and was also a menace in the oppositions penalty area.

Highlights included:

Supporters Player of the Year in 2006/07.

Scored the Tanners goal inside first two minutes at Torquay in the first round proper of the FA Cup in 2007

Scored a hat-trick in a 4-3 win at Marlow in October 2003 (he was a centre-half!)

Lifted the Isthmian League Cup alongside Chris Boulter in 2010.

Iain can be seen here with Co-Chairman David Pope at our game against Westfield.
