Getting to know Nathan Hogan

Graham once again caught up with one of our player …this time it’s Nathan Hogan.

Age? 23 Nationality? British

Can you provide a brief summary of your football career to date?

I started with Croydon FC at 17, then had my first full season in men’s football with Redhill for 2 seasons before moving up to Step 4 with South Park, Bedfont Sports & Raynes Park before moving back to Redhill last season in which we just missed out on winning the league and then I signed for Leatherhead.

What was the main factor behind you joining Tanners in the summer and how are you enjoying life at the Grove?

The main factor was I knew the club were looking to progress and trying to put together a squad that can challenge for the league which intrigued me and having played against Leatherhead in the past I knew about the club with it’s good setup and support so it was a no brainer for me really.

Growing up, which players or sports people generally did you take inspiration from? Who were your childhood heroes?

Being a Manchester United fan, my main inspirations were Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo.

What other sports do you think you are good (or bad) at?

I like to think I’m fairly ok at golf as well as play Darts every now and again, but I think I’ll stick to football for now.

You’re hosting a dinner party this weekend. Which three celebrities are invited?

Ronaldo, Kevin Hart and John Cena – Feel like that’d be a good evening.

Do you have any pre match rituals or superstitions?

I wouldn’t really say I’m a superstitious person to be honest but I’ll always have Pancakes as my pre-match meal.

Do you have a nickname?

So in football I’ve always been known as Hogan or Hoags, just from my surname.

What is your Karaoke song of choice?

Valerie – Amy Winehouse

In your dreams, which team would you play for?

Being a Manchester United Fan, it’d have to be them, I would love to play at Old Trafford every week.

What shows, podcasts or series are you currently watching or listening to?

At the moment I’m watching Dexter, a very good series.

What is the highlight of your football career to date?

I’ve got a few, but I’d say either making the 3rd Round Proper in the FA Youth Cup or winning the League Cup for Redhill when I was 18 with it being my first full year in men’s football.

What’s your favourite app on your phone?

Probably Whatsapp, as I use it constantly for work and other things.

Finally, do you have a message for the Leatherhead supporters?

Keep showing up in numbers, me and the boys really appreciate your support and hopefully we can have a special season together, Up the Tanners!
