Chairman’S Xmas Message

CHAIRMAN’S CHRISTMAS MESSAGE

As we approach the end of the year, I wanted to write on behalf of the Board of Directors to wish you and your families a merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

It’s been a very busy 2023 both on and off the pitch, and I’d like to publicly acknowledge and thank all of our volunteers; they do great things at our football club and we couldn’t operate without them.

These volunteers include your Board of Directors who give so much of their time to the club; they are great people to work with, both individually and collectively.

On the pitch, we end the calendar year with both our men’s and women’s teams doing well, and challenging towards the top of their respective leagues, and we obviously hope this continues in 2024.

The men’s league in particular is a tough one, there are no ‘easy’ games, and we’ve all watched football long enough to know that in a season there will be downs as well as ups, so it’s important that we continue to encourage the team, moreso when it’s not going our way. I know Hayden and the players value your support, it really makes a difference.

As I approach the first anniversary of becoming Chairman, I thought it would be a good time to share my thoughts and answer any questions or points supporters may have, so Simon Keogh will be talking with me towards the end of January, this will be filmed and shared on our various media channels. If you would like to ask a question or make a comment, please email it to Simon on simonk@surreyhillsradio.co.uk by the 15th January.
With best wishes,
David PopeChair, Leatherhead FC
