The club hosted its first ever Business Networking evening in the clubhouse on Thursday evening.
The purpose was to help local businesses connect with each other, enhance their businesses by making new contacts and sharing ideas and challenges. The evening was carefully structured to ensure that all attendees got to meet and talk with everyone else. Think ‘speed-dating’ for businesses.
The driving force behind organising the evening was long time Tanners fan Nicci Pegg (whose company Prolific Mortgage Finance is also a business partner of the club), with support from Chris Webb of Corfe Wealth management, who facilitated proceedings brilliantly.
Tanners Chairman David Pope had a slot to speak about the club – both its rich history and our future plans and vision to be an integral part of our local community. Other speakers included Marilyn Hammick and Peter Beaumont of Leatherhead Samaritans – they told the audience of the amazing work undertaken by The Samaritans, it was an interesting and informative session, which generated many questions.
The evening finished with an amazing buffet provided by another business partner of the club Lavender Catering.
It was great to see the club hosting so many local businesses, it was the first time we’ve tried it and all in all it was a very positive evening.
