Leatherhead Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Javaun Splatt.
The twenty two year old striker signs from Billericay, having previously played for Derby County, Whitehawk, Tonbridge Angels and Worthing. Twin brother of Jamie, Javaun is a powerful centre forward with an eye for goal, who successfully developed through the Aspire Academy in London.
“I am delighted to have signed Javaun!” enthused Manager Hayden Bird. “I would also like to thank Dan at Billericay and Adam at Worthing for helping us complete the deal so quickly.”
“It’s been apparent for a while that we needed to add more goals to the team. None more so than on Saturday! We have been patient in looking for the right player but after the game on Saturday we made a decision to move for Javaun. We approached both Billericay and Worthing on Sunday morning and by 5pm everything was agreed and signed. It was a whirlwind twenty four hours! I’m delighted!” beamed the Boss.
“With Michael Elechi suffering from a long term injury, we are also hoping to sign a left back this week to compete with Louis Collins. We want to end the season very strongly and continue to build for next season.”
As one and potentially two players arrive, the Manager also announced the departure of young midfield player, Keane Anderson. “Aldershot have recalled Keane and we wish him great success in his continued development. Keane has performed very well for the Club and has been a joy to work with. However, as we are already preparing for next season, so are Aldershot and so is Keane. Ultimately, he is not our player and we respect Aldershot’s decision.”
As we look forward to tomorrow’s Quarter Final with Raynes Park Vale, Hayden confirmed there will be changes to the team. “Javaun will be included in the squad, with the team taking the same shape we played at Aveley in the Velocity Trophy. We can expect changes with players being given an opportunity to play. However, this is a competition we are taking seriously and an opponent who are having an excellent season. I have no doubt Raynes Park Vale will be a very difficult opponent and we will have to be at our best.”
